Keep up the fight Randy….FFS is as simple as a video game, and costs thousands of dollars in electronics that regular fisherman/women can't necessarily afford…I suggest letting people use FFS during practice, but not on tournament time????
Personally , i think each angler should have to select a limited amount of gear before leaving the dock. Ban all sonar. Maybe very limited 2d. Each angler gets a scale that must be used with recording equipment on their boat and returns the fish immediately to the water. Any cheating the scales is an immediate and permanent banning from all levels of tournament fishing and arevocation of their fishing license for 5 years.

Technology is great. Ffs sonar is great. Everything in bass fishing is gotten better. Randy wants ffs gone , then let's rid of all the tech. Boats ,rods, line lures, reels,motors, trolling motors,batterys , see my point. WAKE UP PEOPLE.

Non-Tournrment fishing could still use live scope and forward facing technology, but not allowing it In Tournament fishing should be banned. It would keep the companies satisfied but eliminate the money making from it. I don’t use it but have no problem with the weekend angler using it as long as they put the fish back where they caught it.

This is great, I am out there working my butt off against the facing sonar crew. I do not think it’s good for the sport of bass fishing. Let me say that again I do not think that forward facing sonar is good for the sport of bass fishing.
The problem is. A lot of guys who call themselves a pro will be going home early and are selling their boat. Why. cause they don't k own how to catch fish the old fashion way.

Good it isn't fishing there's no surprise in it and looking and dropping your bait in front of a big fish not the smaller one is bush league. "Pro Anglers" need this are not professional I'm no pro and I wouldn't consider one. It's called fishing for a reason not catching.
Randy, number's don't lie I know the Bass fishing is growing by leaps and bounds just left a comment over on BTL with an idea all the major tournament group's have theirs numbers for the 2023 season with forward facing sonar let's look at this as an experiment 2024 season for those institutions that would like to participate remove forward facing technology from practice and during their tournaments and compare viewers, wins and sponsors sales. I think technology is here's to stay but I think it would be great for the sport to see the anglers go out and show the viewers how to find and breakdown a lake during practice and competition remember this would be great research for everyone involved and at the end off the 2024 season go back and compare the numbers for both seasons. You know the old saying, the cream always raises to the top. 👍

I can’t believe all the complaining about FFS. If it boring to watch, don’t watch it. I guarantee you that if FFS is outlawed at the pro level the pros will still be off shore fishing a ledge on the Tennessee river or fishing off shore on the northern swing for smallmouth looking at their 2D. It will still be boring to watch FFS or not. Randy mentioned in a previous video that the off shore smallmouth bass being caught deep and needing to be fizzed would most likely die. Can’t blame FFS on that because the BASS PROS have been catching fish deep way before FFS came along and I’m sure they died also. IMO the professional bass fishing circuits along with regional and local tournaments have done a very good job at decimating our bass population. There can be a really good lake to fish but as soon as tournaments start to show up and the word gets out that lake starts to show signs of not being as good as it used to be. The thing that bothers me the most about all this anti FFS hysteria is that there is no actual documented evidence that shows it is hurting the population. It all opinions. You know what they say about opinions.
You said go back OLD SCHOOL. That’s the problem is that the OLD SCHOOL anglers are getting smoked by the young technologically savvy anglers. Dinosaurs ruled the earth once too & look what happened to them. I could definitely see limiting it to one live sonar per boat but a ban is the most ridiculous thing ever brought up by anyone. Go ahead & get 2-d, down & side imaging banned too. I mean if you’re so against technology that surely you don’t use 2/D or gps waypoints. You’re so against advancement in technology but sure don’t have a problem using YouTube which happens to be modern technology to cry about technological advancements that are so bad, Either evolve or get out of tournament fishing is the way it should be because old school in it is like anything else it gets left to pass all alone.
If it is banned it will take most of the anglers a year to get out of the habit of looking down before casting

This makes watching fishing on tv boring? I'm not watching so much for the entertainment value as much as to see what an how they're using
I mean it's great to watch these pros pump 5 best baits of every month just to watch them in a tournament and see them using shaky heads and drop shots.
I can't stand watching BASS MASTERS it's too damn boring atleast MLF makes it exciting.

I agree that ffs is not fun to watch and it’s pretty much cheating but the weights are awesome to see and it actually shows what a fishery has to offer. On that note if it does get banned, why not ban bed fishing on every level of tournaments, if we’re arguing that it’s to save the fish and fisheries, I think that fisheries should be off limits to tournaments from March-may, and watch the quality of fish grow enormously.
I truly hope that this will pass at all levels….High School, College and all professional levels. Randy I totally agree that all of the electronic companies have many many offerings to help fisherman locate fish. I really really hope this happens. Just allow it in practice. Guys can still say “y’know, I found em on my livescope during practice” when on stage. That’s all sponsors care about
