  1. I wanted to comment about your video with Dave Mercer that posted yesterday. 1st off I like Dave, I've only been watching his podcast recently but he seems like a super good dude, funny & outgoing. But he did keep saying he didn't wanna argue about issues he didn't agree with you on. He seemed pretty persistent on those topics & disagreeing with you. I think you kept your calm cool composure great. That's definitely that way things should be handled when there's a disagreement. He wouldn't answer some of your questions either diverting them with whatever. One question I do ask myself about FFS is, What positives will FFS have on our fisheries years down the road when almost everyone has it? I can't think of any? I'm open minded, if anyone can give me a positive outcome from that, I'm all ears!???!

  2. Randy, get this give up on FFS! I hate it here is an example. I was a longbow and recurve bow hunter for years. Loved hunting with them. Loved the romance of them. So I bitched every where I went because of crossbows were allowed in archery season. A trigger a scope ridiculous. How is that any kind of a primitive weapons hunt. At 67 nobody really cared what I had to say. It’s all about technology. Your just to old. So finally I quit. I could change nothing. So save yourself the grief. Your time and mine has passed . It’s all about the video game crowd who wants everything EASY!!
I also contacted you to go to the lake on some instruction I wanted. You’d couple emails back and forth you never bothered to answer back. Tues. or Thurs. I answered and never heard another word from you. Guess you were to busy making videos. so I unsubscribed! I don’t believe you will ever change FFS.

  3. Love this video. I've been wondering about making these jigs. A few questions, Randy… 1). How thick should the skirt be? 2). Does skirt material matter? 3). Any particular brand, or will anyone's suffice?

  4. Also you don’t have to go buy a tool, you can take a Bic ink pen and cut it down and take pliers and pull the inside off of the tapered piece then take a piece of stainless wire and make you a hook to pull the skirt into the tool, they work awesome just Google a jig skirt tool and make your own using the picture of that as a guide to make yours

  5. Randy just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your knowledge that you share with us daily, you are truly helping cut the learning curve for people that just started or even help guys that have fish their entire life, awesome content and Thank you

  6. My favorite finesse jig right out of the pack is definitely the keitech football 1/4 oz brown and purple. It has a sticky sharp hook so you don't really have to swing for the fence to get a hook in the fish. If I want a slow fall, I'll use a Yamamoto double tail grub or a reaction innovations smallie beaver for a fast fall.

  7. Thanks Randy! Ive had issues before with using 10-12 # test on a finesse jig where the line will snap on the hookset. What is the max weight jig you will use at that line strength, and do you potentially alter your hookset method compared to larger jigs?

  8. Very very helpful Randy! Appreciate the jig tying demo and of course the line and equipment you use. I like how you are now frequently incorporating rods and reels in your demos. Great instructional video! Thank you!

  9. Got into pouring my own jigs and spinner baits close to thirty years ago. That said I of course build my own skirts. I get the biggest kick out of catching fish on my own creations. Got into building my own rods some ten or fifteen years ago also. I guess it's in my DNA.
