I was pond fishing in New York during late spring or early summer (mid June, 2016). I was bass fishing with topwater lures (frogs, rats, and buzzbaits), and I was hunting for big largemouth bass. I ended up catching thirty small bass and losing a monster before finally catching a big largemouth bass (over master angler length) on a mini buzzbait.
