Light Tackle vs. Heavy Tackle which catches more fish / the results will shock you

I fish Alamitos Beach once Again, last time I caught 7 Fish and lost a big one, this time I caught 13 fish and landed a big 15 inch Sand Bass with 11 Halibuts. I started off using heavy gear with big swim baits but it did not catch anything but as soon as I switch up to my high tackle I instantly started to catch fish one after another.
