Join me for a relaxing late fall kayak fishing adventure on a small lake in Nopiming, Manitoba! With water temperatures below 40°F, this trip is all about the thrill and challenge of cold-weather fishing. While most anglers are chasing greenback walleyes on the Red River, I’m on my kayak in search of my favorite catch—smallmouth bass. Despite the cloudy skies and slow bite, I manage to land two solid smallies, a pike, and even a beautiful golden walleye from the Canadian Shield. Finally, as daylight fades, I try one last spot and catch my biggest smallmouth of the season at 19.5 inches! This is the ultimate kayak fishing experience and a perfect way to close out the open water fishing season.
