Lake Wylie June Kayak Bass Fishing – Nivens Creek Landing – Summer Bass Fishing

I visit Nivens Creek Landing on Lake Wylie for summer kayak bass fishing. I wanted to work on the shaky head and the ned rig to gain experience and finesse fishing around docks. I used the Prosserbaits 3/8 ounce shaky head jig paired with the Zoom Trickworm in Motor oil with chartreuse. The ned rig was compliments of Vango Fishing out of Knoxville Tennessee.

Have a shaky head tip? I would love to hear it.

  1. I grew up fishing Nivens and it’s a great spot to fish. Unfortunately as you learned, it gets insanely busy during the summer…and it’s so narrow that the recreational boat traffic is unavoidable. If you go during the week or offseason, it’s great, but that’s one of the spots I avoid during peak. And the deer? They’re EVERYWHERE. It’s inside Tega cay city limits, so no hunting is permitted, but I was reading that DNR was having to go in and do controlled hunts to thin the population. It’s not uncommon to see whole herds chllin’ on the banks out there.

  2. Heck yeah brother you definitely caught some solid fish, looked like a great day out there for sure! Glad your getting things figured out with the Meds, I know it can be tuff with the symptoms that your probably experiencing. Anyways stay strong brother and if your not busy October 27-29 we are having a YouTube Meetup at Table Rock State Park. We will be putting out a video about all the details shortly, hope you can make it, would be cool to meet you in person man. Tight lines brother!

  3. Man that good you had a good time on the water man. I saw how it worked out for you too. I like how you was kayak fishing barefooted 👣 like I do man. That was awesome. Man that is good know that your Depress medicine is working out for you. I also like how you was sitting down on the side of your kayak with your feet 🦶 in the water was cool. It looks like you had on your Thinking cap on sitting down like that. My family & friends Wants to go kayaking on the 4th of July so that will be my next fishing trip. It's good to hear you are doing well. I am doing well myself with my nerves problem in my feet 🦶. I am walking around a lot better now. I just have problems with wearing my flip flops 🩴 sometimes hurting my feet 🦶. You take it easy buddy.

  4. I sure wish we had docks out here in Oklahoma like that. All of ours have cables running in every direction to keep them in place with all the winds we have to deal with. Makes it really hard to fish around.

  5. Getting some killer practice in. Looks like you’re going to have a solid bag if you can repeat on tourney day. Loved the video man. When those mayfly’s are hatching look for overhanging trees where the bluegill are feeding on them and throw a popper. Also you can throw a shaky head or Texas rig. Those bass will sit there and wait for the bluegill to be feeding to try and get an easy meal.
