Summertime on Lake St Clair can intimidate most anglers into thinking the rising water temps means the bite from shore and shallow slows down. Well change your mindset on that because there is some GREAT fishing to be had up shallow along the seawalls and canals this time of year – especially at first light!
The baitfish are pushed in and the bass (largemouth AND smallmouth) are heading in to feed, so take advantage of the feeding frenzy and youโll be surprised what you will catch! Come check out the outing with @brettdowdican8019 from FISH The MITT!

Nice smallie to start it out. Great quick video.
Every time I see a fish put back, I wonder if he tells the other fish about his, "alien abduction." haha
A couple very nice catches and good to see you both get on the board. Well done Joe!
Solid multispecies day for sure! Canals have grown on me so much this year!
That combo sure is working out for you! Thinking about pulling the trigger! (saw the review video)
I need to get the yak in those canals. I haven't been on the lake in a while.
Great video buddy. Nice smallie!๐
03:04 – That worm was breakdancing like Rachel Gunn – similar colors too
