Low water and fast-changing weather made Lake Skinner a grind on this trip. I headed out solo on October 18, 2026, and managed to land 11 fish on a day when every bite counted.

The bite seemed tough for a lot of anglers, and Skinner made me work for the fish I found. Follow along for a look at the conditions and how this solo outing played out as we move further into fall.

Have you been fishing Lake Skinner lately? Let me know how the bite has been for you and what changes you’re seeing on the water.
