Lake Perris: Pre-Spawn Is Close… But The Patter is Starting

Lake Perris is starting to show signs of the pre-spawn, but it’s not wide open yet. I fished Perris two days in a row to see how the bite was developing.

Monday was a struggle with only two fish landed between my friend and I. The conditions looked good, but the bite was inconsistent and hard to figure out.

I came back Tuesday after work to keep looking for answers and managed a couple of quality fish. The bite is still tough, but the bigger bass seem to be starting to move shallow.

Water temps are slowly climbing and Perris feels like it’s right on the edge of the pre-spawn transition.

Primary bait:
Z-Man SMH Worm (Texas Rig) – sprayed grass

Location:
Lake Perris, California

Baron Outdoors is all about real fishing conditions, honest results, and figuring out the bite one trip at a time.

If you’re fishing Perris too, let me know what you’re seeing out there.
