Lake of the Ozarks Bass Fishing – 28 Oct 2026 | Fishing report
Slow Solo Fall Bite! 8 Bass & 1 Keeper | Lake of the Ozarks | October 28, 2026
Some days, you have to work for every bite! Billy wasn’t with me today, so I headed out solo from Pa He Tsi at Lake of the Ozarks. After 5 hours and 23 minutes, I finished with eight bass and just one keeper. It was a slow day, with a long wait for the first fish and only a few brief stretches of activity.
The 5-inch PBJ worm did most of the work, producing seven bass and the day’s only keeper: a 15.5-inch fish weighing 1.66 pounds from a boat-dock walkway. A white/pearl swimbait accounted for the other bass.

• Water: Light stain

🎣 WHAT WORKED
• 5-inch PBJ worm: 7 bass, including the only keeper.
• White/pearl swimbait: 1 bass.
The first bass came at 9:43 a.m. on the PBJ worm along a bank—86 minutes after I started. The next fish didn’t come until 10:45, when the swimbait picked up a bass around pipeline structure.
The PBJ worm then produced four more pipeline fish between 11:10 and 11:23 a.m. That was the day’s busiest stretch, but all four were short of keeper size.
At 11:47, the PBJ worm finally delivered a keeper around a boat-dock walkway. That 1.66-pound fish was the biggest of the day and made up the entire keeper bag. The last bass came at 12:21 p.m. off a bluff wall, also on the PBJ worm.
Five bass came from pipeline structure, with one each along a bank, around a dock walkway, and off a bluff wall. The PBJ worm accounted for most of the catches, but finding another keeper proved tough.
Not every trip comes with a big bag! Come along for an honest look at a slow solo fall day on Lake of the Ozarks.
