Lake of the Ozarks Bass Fishing – 13 Jul 2026 | Fishing report
We launched early and returned to the Shawnee Bend area for another full day of summer bass fishing. Conditions were partly cloudy with a light northeast wind, stained water, and a surface temperature around 84 degrees.
The bite was steady rather than fast, producing 31 bass, eight keepers, 36.6 pounds of total weight, and an 11.0-pound best five-fish bag during 7½ hours on the water.
The most productive pattern was fishing soft plastics slowly along the bank. Of the 31 fish caught, 25 came from shoreline targets. Five-inch worms accounted for most of the action, with Purple Rain and Green Pumpkin leading the way. PB&J also produced fish, while a purple-and-black curly-tail worm worked well on a shaky head.
A white swimbait provided a useful change of pace. It produced fish from the bank, offshore, and around boat docks, including two keepers. The dock bite did not become productive until later in the morning, while the bank pattern remained the most consistent throughout the day.
The better fish were scattered, but the strongest stretch came during the midmorning period when several keepers were caught close together. Overall, it was a solid summer fishing day with plenty of bites, several productive bait options, and another dependable shallow-bank pattern in Shawnee Bend.
