Lake Kissimmee Bass Fishing with Van Soles

A day on the lake with 2014 BASS Open champ Van Soles. Van shows off why he’s so confident in the Gambler BB Cricket day in and day out when tapping heavy vegetation with his Halo flipping stick and Lews Speed Spools for big largemouth bass.

  1. Great tips. I also use Lew's bait casters. Best in the industry as far as I'm concerned. But that reel is not a "BB1"…….it is their MB model, also a great reel. The Lew's MB is where their true quality reels really starts. I have 2 of each of the following models: the BB1-Pro, the Pro-G, and their Super Duty. Man, I gotta tell ya, for a dedicated flippin & pitchin reel, their Super Duty simply can't be beat. It excels as a great casting reel as well, but it is so "heavy duty" yet still fairly light, that it really shines for pitchin & flippin. Also great for large swimbaits and as a froggin rig. Many anglers are put off with the fact the Lew's Super Duty only uses magnetic cast control along with the spool tension knob. But let me tell ya, the reel is made with such precision, it doesn't NEED any other cast control, no matter what you're using it for. Trust me. I've been fishing all 6 of my Lew's reels HARD, and quite often, for 11 months now……..and not 1 of them has given me any problems or issues whatsoever. They all work just as good as the day I bought them.

  2. I have a tournament coming up this Saturday on Lake Kissimmee out of the Highway 60 ramp. I'm not to familiar with that area of the lake plus a huge cold front is rolling through. High of 57 low of 37. I was wondering if you guys at gambler or Van soles had some hot spots or hot baits to throw this time of the year at the south end of the lake. I already have the burner worm, BB Cricket, and Why Not tied on for some flipping. Any help would be appreciated!
