The pointed prongs are for the FG knot and clean eyelet and hole maybe another type of knot.
It won't work on larger hooks but most people don't need help on the larger hooks.
Great ,this is the only demo that shows the tool used with an eye hook and not a spade end.

That's so cool
I picked up the Tie Fast knot tier and I love that thing. Not only does it make knot tying easy. It also allows me to tie thinner line with my bad eyes. @ $1.49 this looks like a definite addition to the tackle shop. I could see me using this getting my double rigs ready for the party boat.
