In this video, I’m fishing one of the most common bass fishing spots in America: a small man-made neighborhood pond.

These ponds get hammered every day by local kids and weekend anglers, so the bass see plenty of lures. Instead of power fishing, I rely on a simple Japanese finesse approach that has worked for me for years.

Today’s setup is an ultralight spinning rod paired with a Keitech Swing Impact 2″ on a jighead—nothing fancy, just a proven fish-catching combination.

The result? Two bass in less than two hours from a highly pressured pond.
Not a bad day at all.
