Adam and I encountered 25MPH or 21 knots+ today while Kayak fishing, and an active (SCA) or small craft advisory due to high winds and large waves. Always wear your life jacket or personal floatation device. Be weather aware. Even though we are always weather aware and think of ourselves as veterans of kayaking in rough water conditions. Todays comditions tested the very limits of safety and our kayaks out on the open water. We were forced to cross the lake and things can change very quickly. I lost a few fish and ended up with no catches. A 🦨skunk but it was ok. I spent the majority of the day piloting in rough seas. I still had a great time fishing and not catching.
