Kayak Fishing an Oasis in the Middle of the Desert for Big Bass

We found an oasis in the middle of the desert… and it turned into one of my favorite fishing trips ever.

This trip started as a surprise for my dad — borrowing a kayak, driving out to Glamis, and hoping everything would come together. We had no idea we’d end up kayak fishing at a hidden desert oasis, struggling at first, then suddenly getting into a solid bite.

From off-roading in the dunes, to launching kayaks in the middle of nowhere, to watching my dad pick things up fast and start hooking fish, this day had everything. Slow moments, good laughs, missed fish, and finally some solid desert bass.

This one reminded me why I love making these videos — it’s not just about catching fish, it’s about the places, the people, and the stories along the way.
