Jerk Bait and Glide Bait Bass Fishing in HIGH WINDS! MAYHEM On the WATER🔥

Early Spring bass fishing is here and we are trying to make the best of the pre-spawn period in Ohio. Johnny got on the water at a private farm pond and threw around his Lew’s gear in search of big bass using Hendrix glide baits, Japanese jerk baits and some other options. The glide provided a 4 pound bass but the jerkbait was the real winner with even providing a double catch on the first cast. The high winds made fishing someone difficult but we were able to get some good footage. Overall 9 bass were caught and it was a good first trip out. The Alabama rig didn’t catch any but it was probably a timing deal, the same goes for the berkley cull shad that is modeled similar to the mega bass swim bait that is so popular. As the water warms more bass will start to feed up on shad and other forage so we can start blasting them hopefully soon enough.

Lesson learned: play the wind, move fast, throw the jerk bait, take advantage of timing.

Some of the best mass lakes in the country are in south like tennessee, alabama and florida. Lake Guntersville, Toledo Bend, Chickamauga and others always produce big bass many times. The north is more known for smallmouth fishing on the great lakes or on Lake St. Clair. Wherever you are in the country, it is either almost time, or it is already time to get out on the water and start ripping some lips. Tight lines!
