  1. Ngl JDM lures are just different and gives the angler(s) a much more different presentation which gets them that slight edge/advantage for catching those finicky or sometime big fishes. I think a great person/people everyone kind of saw last season on the elite series is Kyoya Fujita (OSP dice/Jackal), Takumi Ito (Norries), and a bit of Kenta Kimura (DEPS/Megabass).

  2. Japanese companies make loads of products with great designs, engineering and quality control. Love Shimano and Lucky Craft personally. But for the Japanese Domestic Market many company products are solving problems most in the US and Europe don't have. Problems like too much money and nothing to spend it on. A desire to cast tiny little lures on baitcasters. Or the urge to collect really pretty mint lures in unique colours that the fish aren't impressed by but can be looked at as an alternative to actually going fishing.

  3. I recently stumbled upon some JDM lures and have been fishing them since the summer. There are some extremely effective designs coming out of Japan. Color selection and lure movement you won't often find on the American market. Some of it is pretty affordable, too. I was smashing all summer and fall on a $10 Japanese squarebill shaped like an unshelled peanut 🥜

  4. People commenting about how JDM products "hurts" mom and pop shops is actually the complete opposite. He's not talking about Pa's Bait shop but places that carry a good assortment of baits near bigger/popular lakes and rivers. Many use JDM products to drive traffic to the stores. It works bc many of these products are very specific "limited runs" "JDM only colors" or are the "hottest bait or trend" and they can easily sell these baits out at full price +some, and guys will buy them out. They buy them in bulk from online Japanese/Korean bait shops and resell them. This is a great deal for all bc they pay the same shipping fee $20 to $35+ for a bunch of baits as ilI would buying 2-3 baits. So I would actually save money buying local than buying online and paying crazy shipping fees. JDM baits are a huge win for tackle shops – big $$, great margins, and extra traffic.

  5. I am trying really hard to keep this comment positive. I can only hope that you see the conflict between showcasing foreign hyper expensive lures and, just a day or two ago, saying how local mom and pop tackle stores here in the US are closing at a rapid rate. Maybe I'm seeing this differently than other people are seeing it, but I don't see how supporting foreign lure/tackle companies is in any way helping the mom and pop stores. Maybe I'm wrong on some aspect of this. Have a good day. 👍🇺🇸

  6. I get the special limited edition run every month and have some that’s just mine blowing a some that fish have never and will never see again colors that 30 to 1 on any other color they have.

  7. I like almost all lures…Have plenty of expensive Japanese baits, all the way down to Ozark Trail & Bass Pro Shops baits & everything in between…i do typically change the hooks on the cheaper baits…never change any hooks on the jap lures
