This can be a first amendment case. Since tournaments take place on public lakes (government owned Lakes) that are still protected by freedom of speech, this can be taken to court. No one can stop your freedom of speech on any public ground. I hope James take's this to court. I fought in desert storm for our freedoms and rights. Even business can not take your rights away on public grounds. If it's going to come to that then it's time For MLF and Bass to find private lake's to hold tournaments on!!!

He broke the code of conduct contract. It’s simple. He had been fined many times, he openly admitted he needed to sell 1,500 hats FBD hats to cover the fines. He said he wouldn’t get in trouble for selling the hats. He was wrong. Now he doesn’t have to worry about fines alone, now he has to worry about a job. He signed a contract and he was wrong.

When someone violates your right to free speech, does that bother you? Apparently it does. Isn't it irritating that MLF wrote that into their contract? Why do you and all of your buddies sign these contracts? Does anyone even bother to read them before they sign? You all could fix this quickly if you wanted to. Every participant just needs to stop participating. Well you can't do that can you? Fishing is your livelyhood. Freedom isn't free. You either stand up for it or suffer the consequences. I'm guessing you all are going to continue to fish for tyrants.

The First Amendment (Amendment I) to the United States Constitution prevents the government from making laws respecting an establishment of religion; prohibiting the free exercise of religion; or abridging the freedom of speech, the freedom of the press, the freedom of assembly, or the right to petition the government for redress of grievances. It has nothing to do with private entities. So this isn't a 1st ammendment issue.

Saw a podcast with Watson shortly after MLF announced the reduced field for 2025. Said he probably wouldn't be in the top 35. If that was the case he wouldn't be fishing in 2025 anyway. I back him for his stand. Boyd has too much control in MLF to also be a competitor. No way should he be in leadership, participate or sponsor anglers….seems like a huge conflict of interest.
James will be fine MLF will learn what go woke go broke means. I much more enjoy fishing with my 3 sons as to the tournament circuits these days and I am very very careful as to where my thousands of dollars go and with three sons who really enjoy fishing now it’s even more $$$, but again I really research where that $$ is spent. Like that in American company dicks and Yeti they don’t get a penny from these days they use to get a lot.
What are the facts, we dont need opinions, everyone has one. Looks like he broke his contract and there are consequences. When you dont follow the rules, you cant make it any organization. I bet his sponsors are very proud of him and will give him a raise. Most of us who work for a living can't tell your boss to go F### Off and keep your job, and most peoples jobs suck more than fishing for a living.
At first I loved MLF and I'm not a bass fisherman I'm a multi-species angler but the bass scene always put bad taste in my mouth, too many aholes at all levels local clubs to the top. Do not expect any change in the sport until it hits sponsors in the pocket. If you want to see change boycott sponsors, beginning all things Duckett then BPS-Cabela's buy local and support the shop owners trying to make a living.Send e–mails to Garmin-Hummingbird-Lowrance Mercury let them know time for change be it FFS Rules limiting number of transducers in tournaments-whatever. If not just put CCCP on MLF logo because that's their business model and where everything you purchase from these sponsors comes from anyways.
MLF will be out of business in five years, hopefully someone will come in and buy it and bring FLW back. Watson got screwed. #FBD

H e pays his fees to compete, he has the right to voice his opinion. Don’t know Duckett but he comes off as pompous and arrogant. It does seems as a conflict of interest to own, compete and sponsor fellow anglers. With some of the anglers not invited back to fish, his record isn’t all that stellar either.
Until you know exactly why he was suspended then theres no room for commenting because we dont have all the facts.
