  1. Simply want to see the greats of the sport do what they learned….you named them..😢😢😢..watched them figure out tough conditions and rose above…gave me confidence to go into power fishing….😅😅😅…learned how to finness fish because of that..stupid…got tired of zeros…more happy now…I power fish when I feel I have a better chance of getting a big girl….😮😮😮😮😮

  2. Did you ever consider that those top level anglers that went to MLF did it because they were sick and tired of killing the largest fish in the lake in every tournament? That catch weigh and release would be so much better for the fish and the anglers? I will never be a fan or supporter of any tournament where I see a fish put into a kill box on the boat.

  3. I can’t help but wonder if the mass exodus of 60 anglers to MLF, was because of the new owners. How many owners of BASS did KVD, fish tournaments for? Three-Four? After a while, the pro participants of BASS tournaments probably got tired of having new owners every 5-10 years. These 60 pros built BASS.

I don’t see a lot of “star power” in the current field of anglers. Fans of BASS would have driven hours to watch a weigh in at a lake just to see their favorite pro angler up on stage.

There was a time when BASS provided all the technical information to all us fishing enthusiasts. Now with YouTube and social media, there is no reason to subscribe to BASS for its magazine.

There is no longer the “Weekend Series” for the absolute core group of anglers who purchase the majority of tackle being promoted by current pro anglers.

BASS is great for High Schoolers who have a father with a boat and time off work to use.

BASS is great for fortunate college anglers.

  4. Pro bass fishing is dead. They r just hanging on till their staff can find other jobs. It’s dead guys, turn off the lights when u decide to leave. Fishing is a hobby, not a professional unless u are a guide

  5. I agree 100 percent but they don’t care until it hits them in their wallet and by then it will be too late. I heard talk about a new sonar system coming out that will make forward sonar obsolete wondering if anyone else has any information

  6. There is not enough money in this "sport" to pay the players. When you take 4.5 million out of the pot, how does that money get replaced? Without investments from sponsors, the biggest being the electronics companies, the money isn't there.

  7. Forward-facing sonar represents the latest advancement in fishing technology. Back in the 70s and 80s, flasher sonar was the standard tool for professional bass anglers. When down and side imaging technology was introduced, many seasoned fishermen likely viewed it as unfair. Now, forward-facing sonar is the next step in this evolution, so why the resistance? It seems there are a few reasons for the hesitation: some anglers may find the new technology too expensive, others may be reluctant to learn how to use it, and some simply resist change. Every sport evolves over time—so why shouldn't bass fishing?

  8. Not sure why they didn't include the anglers in these decisions. It would go a long long way. Even if the league didn't go in the direction you wanted… you had a voice. Just like we all do today… being election day.

  9. Randy… I've put this out and not a single person has answered. Why do BASS Pros need to hand BASS their $$$ only to have it handed back to them with a 1099? Aren't pros capable of putting a payout on their own based on their own contributions? Bassmaster has put in 4.2 million and that's their number to be profitable. Any other contributions has to come from the anglers. Why do they need mommy and daddy to hold their allowance and give it back as they seem needed?

  10. Sad. But true. I had a career selling for a company that was #1 in its industry and it flourished. Then it got bought out by a group of investors who wanted to change the recipe for sucsess . I quit as did my boss. Here we are 15 years later and theyre closing over half of there franchises. Some folks dont know when to leave well enough alone. I am proud to say I was a BASS club member, am a BASS life member, got to be on stage with Ray Scott to weigh my fish. Those were the great days!

  11. Life member from day one.Seen this coming ten years or more ago.Every month they would lean another degree to the left. Then women bass pros and all kinds of women articles. Was waiting for one to show up at a tournament with a tampon sponser wrap on their boat, amazed it never happened. They threw harry and charlie under the bus years ago and have dropped me off their mailing list numerous times.Just another sign of the societal rot brought by the bolsheviks in this country.🦅

  12. Great move by BASS. This gives working Angler the ability to possibly afford to fish the tour. Before it was a rich mans sport. If i was invited to the tour i might be able to afford expenses. Previous years i couldn't afford $100k (entries and expenses).
You will see more working anglers trying to fish the tour.
    Its a good move

  13. Bassmaster is a business, and will make decisions according to their focus. It's not for the anglers. Bassmaster may now be a loss leader from the veiw point of the current owners. It will never be what it was in the beginning. If one doesnt like the direction, dont support them

  14. I think you've gotta understand that BASS is just a 'Big Little Company' albeit with a long history. Sure, they probably 'move' around a fair bit of money. But after all is said and done and the dust setttles, the margins are probably pretty thin year to year. Operating expenses, especially in todays world, are through the roof. The actual owner(s) of BASS are business people and do what business people do (good or bad). The part you need to be mindful of is, if BASS isn't 'profitable' that's one thing . . . but if it turns into an 'unprofitable headache' for the Owner(s), they could easily just close shop and move on.(They have plenty of other SUCCESSFUL businesses in their portfolio). I highly doubt that there are very many (if any) people lined up to make an offer to purchase BASS. So you may wanna be careful how much you stir the hornets nest.

  15. You previously made a good argument about the pro anglers being customers of BASS. Is that why they removed the entry fees? Just for more control over the angler’s free speech? Do the pros have to sign some new paperwork?

  16. I hope the meeting they are going to have all the elites go. I could see the guys that make more from U tube and social media not needing the money for tournaments. If they all don’t stand as ONE it will not work if they want to approach bassmaster to make changes to the format!! Whoever is heading this meeting should stress this approach.

  17. Ray is turning over in his grave…what a bunch of BS…I lost interest in BASS several years ago…the final nail in the coffin was allowing live scope…don’t want to watch video game fisherman.

  18. No matter how ridiculous the decision, BASS will have full fields in the Opens. Until and unless that changes, BASS has zero incentive to change anything. They have a product (The Elite Series), that is so desired, that people are wiling to deal with whatever level of craziness they ask. They survived almost every one of their existing market leaving them. Not only survived, but many of them came crawling back. Like it or not, they can do pretty much anything they want to do.

The angler meeting will be exactly like every other one. They will come out as divided as ever and only make the monster that much more powerful. Even if they are unified, BASS can tell them to pack sand and let them all walk. There will be 150 more guys lined up to take their place.

  19. I have been in a situation like this before. A company I worked for would not listen to their customers or employees. Even with all the complaints and people telling them they need to change. I left before things things went way down hill. About 10 years after I left they were gone. Every year they would shrink and loose market share. They were set in their ways and just thought they had all the answers.

It was frustrating to see the slow decline and lack of customer and employee engagement. In the end other companies stepped in and provided the services they once did. It worked out for the companies that took over the market they once were in (wine and liquor sales).

Bassmaster is the same. They will eventually fail. It probably is time to move on. Promote the tournament series that don't use forward facing sonar. Ray Scott was a unique individual. He loved to fish and tournament fishing. He is long gone. The current ownership is clueless. It is probably best they just go away. Something else will replace them and it will be better than before.

  20. Randy, I totally agree with you. I’ve been with Bassmaster 35 years. I’m done till I get their shit together. I will not support them ever again. Thanks for all your support. You’re a true ambassador. God bless you. Keep doing what you’re doing. I love your videos.

  21. Everything you sad makes common sense! BUT it’s basically supply and demand! BASS knows that all 100 Elites could quit today and 100 anglers would sign up in 24 hrs lol…
