My Profile:
http://www.mattstefanfishing.com/
I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. At that point, I moved to Junction City, WI with my wife Sara and two boys Hank and Duke. I’ve been fishing professionally since 2011 and full-time since 2015. I’ve qualified for seven MLF Championships and won over a half million in tournament winnings at the professional level.
I have a garlic chartreuse pen I color tails of swimbaits a lot and sometimes the whole underside and all and also tips of craw style baits
Chartreuse has been a staple in the saltwater world for ages.
Matt killed them a few weeks ago with a chartreuse and black square bill granted they were biting that day.. my buddy was like what does that even represent? I think its the contrast thathelps it stand out in dirty water,i smash with a chartreuse and white spinnerbait
Thanks Matt. I've seen it work 1st hand
Strike king red eye shad spinner bait.. Culprid 10 " worm. Fluke from bass assassin… And strike king rage craw in watermelon red dipped in chartreuse spike it.. O ya this is a killer
Hey Matt, I just picked up two of those stunnas in the shad fillet pattern. Can't wait to try them. They just look good. Thanks for the video.
My favorite color for any lure is green pumpkin but chartuce is great
I use a Ned rig with Chartreuse as one of two colors.😊
🍺Perhaps I’m missing out but I personally do not have any chartreuse colored baits of any kind other than some yellow on my vision 110’s🤷♂️.
when I want something to look chartreuse underwater, I throw white.
The jerkbait is a really good color to throw, has been a good bait to catch fish
Great advice, as always. Is there an amount of water clarity where it becomes “too clear” to be effective?
Hey Matt: Chartreuse single tail 4" grubs by Strike King and Berkley have caught lots of shallow smallmouth bass for me (using a 1/0 or 2/0 EWG).
I always put a little of sunshine ( chartreuse ) on the tail of most of my soft plastics. Unless the fish tells me different.
Love anything chartreuse!!! Thanks, Matt!!
If it ain’t chartreuse, it ain’t no use! Lmao gotta have chartreuse
Here in IL I throw a lot of chartreuse. Solid or chartreuse/white, chartreuse/black. My favorite rapala patterns are clown and chartreuse with silver sides.
I mean we are all a little crazy
Never caught anything off it.
👍👍👍👍👍
If you think about it, the belly of a yellow perch is basically chartreuse. Also a sunfish is somewhat close
Chartreuse Flicker Shads work great for walleye in Canada in stained water
When I began bass fishing in the early 70's, and then on through the 80's and 90's, the majority of our fishing was done with traditional spinnerbaits, and we typically threw 2 colors: black or chartreuse. When green pumpkin became the rage, I've thrown it consistently, but probably should go back to chartreuse occasionally.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I 100% agree. For Lake Erie walleye, that's the color I fish 90% of the time. It does well in the muddy water. The only time it doesn't work so well for me is in clear water. For some reason, I do better with more natural colors.
Thanks Matt , They are a must ( All year ).
Firetiger with chartreuse can be dynamite too.
KILLER KOLER
100 percent yes!
Hello Matt! Greetings from Brazil! One of my favorite color of all time is the "firetiger" I just need some clouds and there is a firetiger lure in my rod! I've been painting chartreuse belly on my white wake baits also! Sorry for any english mistakes.
Nice video!
Matt, agree 1000% with your assessment of chartreuse being an attracting color for bass. Back in the 80's, Bomber had a color called DFY which stands for dull faded yellow. It was popular in their 6A, 7A and 9A crankbaits. We had great success with it on the lower Arkansas River, especially when it was murky as it normally was. Don't know if Bomber is still in business or if they still make the A series of crankbaits or even that color. It was very close to chartreuse except as the name implies faded. Over half my cranks are chartreuse, the other half Always enjoy your videos.
I absolutely agree. Jerkbait chat&blue back 😊
Hey Matt….where are you getting your tinsel for you jigs???
I paint a black and yellow square bill. It's all killer for all species. Last time out cought a wipper bass dog fish northern and a gar.
It's a must for smallmouth bass they love chartreuse
For me "Green Pumpkin w/red/black flakes " for plastics .. Hard baits silver w /black or blue back .. both pretty much equal ..
Chartreuse blk back square bill and a 3/8 GP flipping jig with a 3" GP chigger craw with the tips dipped in Chartreuse dye is what got it done for me Friday and today.
Agreed 👍
I agree. Lost my guilty pleasure core tackle swim jig yesterday and I was so mad about it. And somehow when I ordered them all I did not get a Goldilocks so KBR website again I'm off to go. And I really love the looks of an agent e with the tail dipped in chartreuse. Always have to have a bottle or marker of chartreuse dye
for sure, chartruese is a great color on a variety of baits.
Your Goldilocks is money, since you first ever talked about it I've tied a few and made some of my own chatterbaits with gold blades out of that color and done really well with it
🍺Hank finished in 10th and is 71 overall. That’s great. Let him know that I have been told that Dakota Ebare will not be fishing in the next 2 tournaments. I picked Villa once and Wheeler once this year and they didn’t even fish 👎.
