Caught a tank on a whopper plopper today in heavy lilypad cover. I was just thinking whats like a plopper but i can fish like a frog too. Just found my answer in this video
yea your doing what i came up with on my own i used a kitech swing impact and a gamagatsu screwlock hook but i cut the weight off the hook it sill casts far and i can work it slow the weight of the hook keeps it from rolling i have a real problem with pond scum here

Great video! I sort of accidentally discovered the idea of topwater paddletail swimbaits this summer and caught a few like that…but like you said, I really needed the belly weighted hook.

This is one of the most common top water baits in South Korea for bass and snakehead. I get most of my bites when I let it drop into the pockets of the lily pads.
