1. B.A.S.S. had better stop lecturing people and accept constructive criticism.
2. BASS had dropped the bag so bad in the past two years i would almost bet money someone is in sabatoge mode. you literally can’t funk up that bad without trying.
2a. the most anticipated rookie class coming in last year with milkman and the others and somehow they screw that up, put cameras in old also rans boats, giving the old heads the platform when they are perennial 80+ place finishers.
2b. BASS had an epic opens qualification program that was obviously working. so what do they do? change it again?!?!
2C. wtf were they doing. with scott martin after the first cheating situation? an apology tour and making hi. the face of the organization? lol how did that work out for BASS?
3. if they just owned it, the cheating, the punishment, the Classic coverage debacle; own it and say “you know. we hear you. we get it. we’re going to fix it!”

@O-C-WT the big one for me is BASS calling SM and letting him say he self reported. Then let him do damage control during the tournament. I don't care if SM is DQed but just do it and move on, not setup a scheme. There's so much that BASS does to make things worse. You are correct that anglers bring this stuff on themselves though. And I certainly don't think MLF is transparent or any better than BASS. Thanks for the question and the opportunity to explain how I see it.

For whatever it's worth, I have been a member of BASS since the early 80s. I used to look forward to the monthly magazine, and now it goes straight to the trash. I know things change, but it should be for the better and not get worse. Don't let the haters get you down.

I agree with you CT… B.A.S.S. could do everything it takes to get back to the top of the mountain again. It starts with leadership and I fully believe if somehow Anderson got out of the way, it would start looking the way it did when we were growing up.
I have given up on BASS and MLF as they are both in a spin. I hope the anglers get going on there media stuff as I believe this is the direction of the MONEY in fishing not tournments.

Good work, CT. Check this… I don’t give a rip whether Scott Martin was innocent or guilty. That isn’t my point… On the preview for the Pasquatank Ronnie Moore goes into a bit about just how confusing the tournament waters are for this event. Even saying at one point, if I had to explain it, I would say the northern border the eastern border the western border and the southern border is off-limits. Maybe that tripped up Scott, maybe it tripped up others but who cares, the way I see it if you’re gonna have a tournament in Kentucky it’s best you don’t talk about anything in Kentucky except their women and bourbon. As for BASS… dudes, drinking the Kool-Aid/company men like Ronnie and Jesse will get on their podcast and say anything to make the company look good when in theory… I think they goofed up just as much on this DQ as any other one this season. Seems they always own part of the problem but with a pool of 100 anglers… if you just cut one every time you screw up and can’t help them through the issue, you’ll never run out

I don't understand how one of the top guys at BASS can have such a high opinion of you, but the other office help, keep you out of the BASSMASTER Classic. BASSMASTER is plain and simply a cancerous organization. They are destroying themselves from the inside out. Someone better wake up over their at BASSMASTER and get rid of the ones making these stupid decisions. CT, you are one of the best people I've ever come into contact with. Thank you for all you do for our sport. Also, I want to say thank you to you and your wife for all you have done for me and my family. You are a true friend and a great guy. Mercer blocked my comment because it was negative. I was actually responding to another comment and he blocked it. So I can see that BASS is absolutely going for an overall positive image no Matter what. My comment was extremely tame.

The last minute and a half sums it up Perfectly. The Good Ole Days of Kids hitting Ponds, Family's cleaning a mess of Crappie together. Watching Bassmaster on TNN on a Sunday Afternoon. Those Days are gone and BASS has become a Joke and unwatchable!
Bro, again, you are spot on. BASS wants us all to drink their cool aid. Dave Mercer is just the choir director for the church of BASS and has spoken badly about many people who dont drink their whole glass full of what BASS is serving. Transparency from BASS is what we want. Thats what would help me regain trust in the organization. Thanks CT.
I believe in keeping the sport’s integrity strong. Positivity’s great, but transparency from B.A.S.S. matters too — especially if we want the next generation to stay passionate and respect the game for what it truly is. Great job CT, love your content — keep it up!
