061123 Steve and I Caught 9 Citation(greater than 11inches) Steve’s 5 are the biggest ever caught on film. I had caught 10 the week before but his 5 averaged bigger. An Epic day on the water chasing one of the rarest fish in North America.

i just read a biologist study that said the IGFA world record was 13 7/8" long so these are giants among Roanokes . I believe the NC state record is actually bigger than the world record. I guess the NC guy didn't have the time to jump through all the hoops the IGFA required. What the video does not show is we lost nearly as many as we caught. That one pool was packed and it's not obvious why.
I have never even heard of a Roanoke Bass. I Iive way out of there range in Mobile,Al.

In Virginia all of our Roanokes have to be 12" for citation.
