After yet another disappointing start on topwater reactions, I managed to land the first fish on a Palms Smelt 60g jig. After that, it slowed right back down to where I started chasing topwater again – but boy was I not disappointed. With my drag nearing maximum capacity, I reeled in my Personal Best sized bonito.
