I was all pumped up to go fishing after work. I planned to do some float fishing for the first time in a VERY Long time and had a new river in mind to fish. All was going well until I rolled up to see the river… It was looking terrible! The water was high and brown from heavy rains.
I then was faced with the Question: Should I Stay and stick it out, in hopes of catching something? Or should I cut my losses and drive to another location and not have as much time to fish?
I decided to stick it out and give it a try. The float fishing wasn’t producing any fish so thankfully, I had a back up plan. I also brought my spinning rod and some lures, which totally turned the day around for me!
Key message I want to pass along is this: sometimes things don’t go as planned and it’s always good to have a back up plan. Sometimes you need to switch up your presentation(lure colour, bait, depth etc.) and sometimes you just need to grind and stick it out and it can pay off big time!
