I Threw GIANT Swimbaits in a Summer Storm… Big Bass!
I took my kayak out into a wild PNW summer storm — heavy rain, high winds, and big waves — and committed to throwing nothing but giant swimbaits all day. I tied on a Citizen 7, a 10” Megabass Magdraft, and a 6th Sense Draw 9” glide bait in search of a true giant bass.
Kayak bass fishing in tough conditions is never easy, but the payoff can be worth it. Despite the storm pushing me around, I managed to stick with the big baits and connect with some incredible fish — including a giant largemouth that made the chaos worth it.
If you enjoy big bait bass fishing, kayak fishing in the rain, or just want to see how swimbaits produce when the weather turns nasty, this is the video for you.
