I Thought This Bass Was My New PB
Kayak Bass Fishing in the Bay Area | 7lb Giant & 18lb Bag in February!
I hit a local Bay Area lake in mid-February and the bass were feeding! Fishing from the kayak, I managed to land a 7lb giant along with a few other solid fish for an 18lb total bag. Winter fishing can be tough, but when you find the right areas and dial in the pattern, it can produce some absolute tanks.
A lot of the same techniques and patterns I use out here also apply to California Delta bass fishing, especially during the colder months when bass group up and feed around structure. If you fish the Delta, these winter tactics can help you locate bigger prespawn fish and put together a solid bag.
Fishing from the kayak makes every fight even more intense, and that 7-pounder definitely put the gear to the test. If you enjoy kayak bass fishing, big largemouth, and California Delta style fishing, you’re going to like this one.
