I Slowed Down… and Started Catching More Fish

ometimes the best thing you can do on the river is slow down.

In this video, I get out for a quick Sunday morning fly fishing session on higher, slightly off-color water. I caught a few fish, but the bigger takeaway was a reminder I needed: there are often more fish in a spot than you think, and sometimes the answer isn’t changing flies — it’s changing your presentation.

Instead of moving fast from spot to spot, I worked the water more methodically, watched fish react to the fly, and made adjustments until I got them to eat.
