Great subject and good advice. I do enjoy the challenge of targeting different species and when it’s hot I enjoy wading the creeks and small rivers in the area too. Merry Christmas!
Sir Randall Merry Christmas to you and your family
I actually fish by myself because most people annoy me.
A good balance of dirt bikes and fishing is the best way to live life.
I got burned out on COMPETITIVE fishing before FFS even became a thing, even though I was reasonably successful.
When it appealed the most to me there were only 2-3 "Pro fishermen" per state…….Now there are 20-30 in every TOWN🙄 And that's just ridiculous.
The drama surrounding FFS was the nail in the coffin for me.
I will always love fishing, but I have no desire to try to catch more & bigger fish than anyone else on the lake…..every damn day.
If i fish for 3 days in a row, i feel “burnout” for about 24 hours. Then the disease comes raging back and i need to get back on the water. . Now that winter only just began, im bouncing off walls for late march to get here(I reside in NY, so fishing is almost fully out of the question right now)….
Fly fishing! It's fun af!
I really also do appreciate & enjoy these kinds of episodes—your analyses of the psychological & mental aspects of angling, Randy; tyvm for enlightening us with your piscatorial experience & wisdom…sincerely, my good man…. ⚜️🎣⚜️
I thought he was going to tell us he put livescope on his boat
Randy, do you understand what kind of economy we are all living in? Do you think we have a fucking single dollar to spare to spend on tackle warehouse?!!!
I can't recall why I subscribed to this channel, but I know the constant clicklbait titles are why I am unsubscribing.
I have 800 or so YouTube subscriptions and zero time to waste going through my feed.
If you're a competitive tournament fishermen, I can see getting burned out. If you're just a sport fishermen, who fishes for fun, there's not much to get burned out on.
Fishing for multiple species always keeped me fresh and having other hobbies i enjoy just as much as fishing
I understand getting burned out on any hobby at times. For fishing burnout I highly recommend taking a kid pan fishing or catfishing. Grandson, nephew or niece etc. Seeing their amazement about it is a true motivator for yourself and them!
You are burned out on fishing because you are too concerned about livescope as it takes a toll on you because you think of it 24/7
I remember once I wasn't working and I fished 3 months straight I mean practically almost every day until one day I'm sitting on the lake one day and I'm watching people on shore getting their cars laughing talking having conversations and I was feeling like I couldn't make one more cast. I just sat there rocking in the boat with the waves and I felt like I was losing my mind. I couldn't get any pleasure out of it.(And I love bass fishing it's been an incredibly large part of my life)I felt like I was just going through the motions. I sort of lost my mojo and I thought to myself okay I'm going to have to get back out there in the workforce and have a 5-day work week to be able to appreciate getting to fish on the weekends. That's what I did and it eventually worked. It is not a snap your fingers and get it back thing once you are burnt to a crisp! Just like Randy said get away from it for a while and you will appreciate it more when you come back to it. The fish will be there waiting for you!
When I get burnt out, I either hire a guide for a different perspective, fish new water, or fish for stripers or crappie. Watch your videos!
Did you use to live at green briar Grove by old Larry Tasker?
Can’t relate to be honest. I have no greater passion than fishing. Sometimes you need to just switch it up. Fish for other species, go wading or shore fishing, kayak fishing, etc. but I’ll never, ever get burned out on it. Not a chance.
Take a break , put a catfish pole in a holder and pull out a chair. Works for me , the fish does the work 👍
Multi species fishing never gets old. I’m fortunate enough to live in a place where I can chase crappie, cats, largies, or stream smallies. The variety keeps it interesting.
I've been burned out for 3 years now. The only updates I've been getting is from Randy's channel. Before 3 years ago you couldn't get me off the water. I resorted to playing pool until I get the itch back. Thx for this vid randy, I've been wondering what happened because I love it so much, like you say, all my tackle will be waiting lol
Thanks Randy, good advice as always.
My life revolved around fishing of all kinds. Freshwater, saltwater, fly fishing, surf fishing, tournament bass fishing, etc. Got burnt out of tournament bass fishing in my late 30s and sold the bass boat. The pandemic, left me with time to fish and stock up on the latest tackle. Now in my 50s, most of our fisheries have since declined, but my passion for fishing remains strong.
