I've never had fluorocarbon drag any lure down. That's a ridiculous myth that needs to stop. If you're moving a lure across the water the line doesn't have time to sink!! Fishing line is not dense compared to the density of water.

My favorite top water bass bait is a hulla popper in the coachdog color. I have caught tons of fish with it. If you fish it early in the morning, cast in close to the bank.
