After putting in plenty of hours chasing plaice from the shore, today’s session took an unexpected turn — and what a result it turned out to be! 🎣

With perfect conditions, a gentle rolling surf, and fish feeding confidently close in, I switched targets to sea bass… and it paid off in style. I managed to land two stunning bass weighing 4lb 5oz and 4lb 7oz, along with a few quality flounder to top off an unforgettable session.

But the sea can change in seconds. Conditions suddenly turned rough, and during a moment of lost concentration, a huge boat wake came out of nowhere and nearly washed me off the beach! Thankfully, I kept my footing and carried on fishing — and the rewards were worth it.
