After putting in plenty of hours chasing plaice from the shore, todayβs session took an unexpected turn β and what a result it turned out to be! π£
With perfect conditions, a gentle rolling surf, and fish feeding confidently close in, I switched targets to sea bass⦠and it paid off in style. I managed to land two stunning bass weighing 4lb 5oz and 4lb 7oz, along with a few quality flounder to top off an unforgettable session.
But the sea can change in seconds. Conditions suddenly turned rough, and during a moment of lost concentration, a huge boat wake came out of nowhere and nearly washed me off the beach! Thankfully, I kept my footing and carried on fishing β and the rewards were worth it.

This simple setup worked perfectly in the calm surf and proved deadly for bass in the changing conditions.

Another nice session Paul ππ»ππ», that surge might of been off the iom seacat, it's not until 5/10 min after it passes that you see waves coming , Crosby is worse and even throws a surge up in Formby aswell π£π£ππ»
