I LOVE BASS FISHING!!!

In all of the lakes, ponds, reservoirs, and rivers that I’ve fished, I’ve never witnessed bass fishing quite like this… Schools of 5-25+ bass would corral MASSIVE schools of blueback herring then BLITZ on them!

  1. Final update: this little reel is the little engine that could https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e . It performed flawlessly and was easy to adjust drag in the moment while I was battling a 35lb bat ray behemoth. Mind you, this reel is spooled with only 25 lb braid and 25 mono topshot. It's paired with the kastking telescopic heavy power rod and the two work well together. This has now earned my respect and confidence when traveling and fishing. If you have ever hooked into large rays and sharks, you know they pull extremely hard and can run forever! This thing clamped down on the fish and was easy to adjust during the fight. It has a nice decently fast retrieve as well. Twice the fish went on mad runs and I was able to gain back line quickly to avoid spooling.

  2. In the summer if they are hitting like that you can go to Walmart and buy a ton and just start throwing out there and you can catch 19 or 20 bass
Last summer in 2017 it was like that and ever 4 or 5 cast I got one in.

  3. 2 years ago, I was on a lake trout mission with the brother in law on a well renowned, large lake within driving range of my residence (Quebec, Canada) in an area of the lake where EVERYBODY targets lakers – because that's where they hang out. Any given day of the week, you can count at least 20 boats in sight in that area – on a windy/rainy day… much more on week-ends.

On the 3rd day (of 5) on the water, mid-to-late afternoon, the surface started literally boiling. Landlocked salmon, brown and rainbow trout were blitzing all around us and NOBODY on any of the 50+ boats around us could get any of them to bite the offering. That's because we were all geared for fishing deep while the fish were munching on emerging flies. Had we somehow anticipated the phenomenon, we would have brought fly gear with us. Now we do bring it every time, but it's unlikely that we'll witness it again.
