I was fishing shiners in Rodman Resevoir in 1975 and hooked and lost the biggest bass I’ve ever seen! It weighed 15.3 pounds! How do I know that? Watch this video to find out!

What I love most about this story is that even by that point in Rolandโ€™s career, having caught probably dozens of 8-10lb bass, he was still beside himself about the possibility of landing a 15+ pounder and then felt absolute agony over losing it. I love watching the ol pros nowadays because they still, after decades of fishing, show so much excitability and passion for every bite they get! Thatโ€™s the epitome of loving what ya do! #FishOn

  2. Caught one 15 lbs about 25 years ago in Lake Pierce, Polk County Florida.. Caught her on a gold 14 ounce Johnson spoon with a white skirt… In thick pads in May..
    Turned her loose..

  3. i was born raised in fld and fished some the same rivers and lakes you mentioned i grew up in Melbourne fld and Miami i lost a lot of monsters in the glades and the Ocklawaha river lake Washington biggest bass i caught was in lake Marion in Stanford fld i was 15 pounds with a huge blue gill and 40 teat leader and 15 lb mono with my dad in 1990 you were one of persnal local home town fld boy fishing heros well my father and my grandfather were my first heros who showed me how to fish i also fished the Indian river as well god bless you and bill dance and Doug Hannan for showing me new technics of lure fishing for bass on Saturday fishing shows
