Smallmouth bass are known as the smaller cousins of the largemouth bass, but don’t let their size fool you. They fight WAY harder, and when they’re used to fighting strong river currents, just a little one can feel like a GIANT. So for the next week, I’m fishing a stretch of the Potomac river that’s absolutely LOADED with these fish. I’ll be figuring out these super fun fish, kayaking across the river, and catching some big smallmouth along the way.

The ned rig caught all the fish in today’s video. Instead of the regular ned stick bait, I used the more realistic Zman TRD crawz in a natural color called canada craw.
