I CAUGHT my PB Bass FISHING a Lure I MADE!!! (Cold Water Pattern)

It was an epic day on the lake! I caught my Lake Guntersville PB fish using a fishing lure I made for Gambler Lures for swimbait fishing. Alabama rigs are great lures this time of year for cold water and I stumbled on a pattern for fishing grass on shallow submerged points with small swimbaits. The bass were were keyed on shad and I would use the swimbaits to mimic bait balls in creeks and at the mouths of creeks. The way I fish an umbrella rig is really more like a spinnerbait. I use a shorter fishing rod and a smaller rig so that I can cast it more accurately and fish it all day with less fatigue and more efficiency. I’m so stoked I finally caught a GIANT bass out on Lake Guntersville – definitely my PB and it made it especially cool to do it with a homemade jig.

  1. I've been watching your channel now for about a month and I just want to say thanks bro. I really appreciate all your positivity along with the content. Your dog with you is like the icing on the cake. I had a pitbull years ago and had a terrible accident. She reminds me of her. Anyhow this wasn't supposed to be a sob story lol my point is keep dropping them vids bro and just know I will be telling as many people about your channel as I can๐Ÿค™

  2. Great video can't wait to hit the smallies up this spring here in Michigan! Love that you take your helper with you! Gonna try and take my 2 Big boys with me this year they love when i just say the word FISSHH!! LOL

  3. I love how you always say โ€œi dont know what im doing, im learningโ€ in so many vids. But I think we all know you def know what youre doing. Your channel has been around much longer than nearly all fishing channels, and you consistently slay em. You caught a nearly 40 lb bag in 1 day, cast to catch and held all fish up together. Ive never seen anyone else do that. Im assuming saying that keeps some of the smart ass know it alls from posting nasty comments saying you need to do something this way or that way. You should have a million subs, but its not your style to sell out to catch co or some of these companies, or do walmart challenges and clickbait. You use what you like and what works, and thats why your channel is #realfishing. Keep it up bro.

  4. Nice bass Mike. I live at toho in kissimmee it's 85 degrees here. Too dang hot. major tournament going on. water is getting beat up lots of fishing presure this time of year. I'm looking to try and find that lake in one of your other video's 23' deep to try and duplicate what you did. Marking them and throwing a ned rig or a Tokyo rig. To Try and beat my PB 10.8 this year. Learning a lot from your videos.

  5. Awseome video! Have a tourney on guntersville end of March, coming down from the north east for the first time. I'll be glued to your videos to cut the learning curve a little bit! Keep up the great work!

  6. Just curious…where are you from cause I see you fishing some Florida lakes and Alabama lakes so how long does it take for you to get to some of your usual spots?

  7. Great video man! Today's my last day in Bama, pretty bummed, have caught hundreds of spots on an a rig on the Coosa including two over 5lbs… didn't get my 6 though. Do you tournament fish?
