Kendall, I’m new to your channel so if you’ve already done a vid on this, my apologies for missing it. But have you ever made a Native American fish trap? I grew up doing pretty much EVERYTHING you do on the channel but I haven’t seen a fish trapping vid. It’s easy to build, you simply place rocks across the entire creek, much like a small dam. This prevents fish from fleeing upstream. Then you walk downstream 10-20 feet and build another one only you make a “V” the same way, with the point of the “V” pointing towards the first dam upstream. Leave an opening in the point of the “ V” so fish can enter the “holding pen”. You can “drive” the fish into the “V” by walking upstream or wait a few days and check it. It works much like a minner trap, the fish go in and can’t figure out how to get out. Then you simply net your catch! Your friend and brother in Jesus, Casy (it’s Casey with no “E”) in southwest VA.

I have the same rod and reel. Take the 3 lbs. line off and replace it with Stren MagnaThin 6 lbs. line. I did that and it works beautifully, caught a 4 & 1/2 lbs. catfish with ease.
