Day 2 on the Pasquotank River was all about making the right adjustments. After a solid start, I put together another 20-pound bag to keep myself in the hunt. Every bite mattered, and with long runs, changing conditions, and plenty of pressure, this one was another grind.

The day also included one of the craziest moments I’ve ever had running a bass boat. While making a long run across the Albemarle Sound(OCEAN), a huge fish—possibly a sturgeon or another large species—launched completely out of the water right in front of my boat. I barely missed hitting it at speed. Really glad it jumped when it did because one second later it would have been in the boat! Definitely a moment I won’t forget!
