My best strikes were on rooster tails. I caught bluegill the size of a dinner plate and bass the length of my forearm.
Literally the most fun I’ve had in my life was when a gator gar blew up on my lure. They spit it out because I take the barbs off my hooks for both my safety and the safety of people around me when I cast. Still tons of fun to see them strike.
Man this video has my blood pumping. I'm ready to head to Elkhorn creek to do some bass fishing. Awesome footage.

I find myself almost exclusively fishing ploppers because of the strikes on topwater right now. It's sooooo amazing.
