Why the weighted WACKY rig? Farmers aren’t the only ones experiencing droughts during the summer months. Extremely warm water can affect the way bass behave. It’s true that warmer water will increase the activity level of bass. Bass are driven by their food sources. Some bass go to deeper water in the summer months. However, there are still a large number a bass in the shallows. A large moving bait may not draw a strike like it does in the spring/fall.
Enter…the weighted wacky rig. You’ve got to be a bit more selective on how you fish shallow water in the summer. Laydowns, vegetation beds, docks, and shaded areas are all popular choices. This rig will allow you to fish those areas in a slightly faster method. Bass in the same area may go for a jig, however, it’s always good to have a finesse option to capitalize on as many bites as possible!

I am new to bass fishing
I am on the Mississippi River I was wondering what Lure should I start with
I’m telling you a True “Renaissance Man” when it comes to Fishing knowledge, a Fountain man a Fountain of Knowledge we all should take in.
Hell yea
FYI by now I’m sure u have heard of the frenzy wacky saddle
Debo I've been following you for awhile and this is another good info vid and entertaining.
Because of this video I went out and got some of those grande bass worms and caught my pb the next day thanks Debo from Nashville Tn one of the most genuine guys in the fishing game on YouTube
Great Video. Well spoken and easily explained. I appreciate you!
Could you also use a slide weight instead of a weight head hook?
GANGANG
Lovely Debo I ordered my weighted wacky rigs 👊 will be here I 5 days from the USA 👌
Unless the head is plastic those are at a minimum 1/8th to a 1/4th oz. But thanks.
It's a good idea to mention every bait you present. I have no idea what that 3rd bait is thanks to the shaky video.
Could you peg a small bullet or split shot at the top of the hook of you dont have a jig? Great info btw
Iam going back an watching all ur videos glad an came across this one. Been looking for the name
Of that bait keep up the great videos
What size on those baits? 3.75 or 4.75 or bigger?
Thanks!
Can't see how you rig anything. All your hand waving and fast talking looks like a magic trick.
nice reveiw
I have yet to catch a fish on a weightless wacky rigged stickbait. Gonna try this jighead way! I'm not the best finesse fisher by far so maybe this fits my style better. Great video!
A few videos back you were fixing your dads Ryobi reel , now this has nothing to do with nothing but years ago I tore down a shimano bait caster , I’m thinking every bit of thirty years ago , I took out a bearing , here it comes , it said RYOBI on it , pretty cool hey ?? But this was back before WTF was around
I'm pretty new to bait casting rods and reels. Your videos have been so helpful. You don't go out and purchase $500+ combos, you share your experience and what you have learned and you're super humble about it. I'm terrible at fishing but hope to be smart and more confident in fishing as I watch your videos. Just subscribed, keep up with the awesome videos man.
Outstanding video and information. Well done DEBO!
Great tips, thanks! The one on how to cross the O rings is especially helpful
Yesss!! youtubers need to support youtubers whether big or small! It would be my pleasure if u can check mine. like 55
Another great video boss. Keep up the great work 👊🏻
I hate you Debo!! lol.. Well done man 🙂
I have been up at Lake Champlain for over a week now and I have caught several several nice bass using the wacky rig in your double banded thanks for the tip
Debo Dude you are the man!!! its like you read my mind….I just bought a wacky rig tool yesterday going out tomorrow morning!! I will put your teachings to the test TY
Wow…wow…a simple way to cross your rings when you screw up putting them on…sometimes brain don't think smart
Great explanation brother! The only reason I'd say the jackal or bps flick'n shimmy is its a thinner profile. Just a little more finesse. Like how most true dropshot worms are. But if I was fishing more stained or dirty water I'd go with a bigger profile as well
