Recommendations to help you get started in kayak bass fishing.
Sit On Top Kayaks: Jackson Bite Angler, Perception Outlaw, Perception Pescador Pro 12.0.
Spinning Reels: Daiwa Exceler LT, Daiwa Revros LT, Daiwa Legalis LT, Shimano Nasci FC, Shimano Nexave , Shimano Sahara, Shimano Sedona FJ, Ardent Bolt, Ardent Ignite.
Spinning Rods: Shimano SLX A, Dobyns Fury, Dobyns Colt, Dobyns Maverick, Abu Garcia Vendetta, St. Croix Bass X.
Bullet Weights: Omega Tungsten Worm weight. There are many brands of bullet weights. I like these because they have the weight painted right on the weight. You can also save a little money and go with lead weights. I recommend 1/8 oz or 1/4 oz for the technique we’re using here.
Hooks: Again there are many different brands and styles of hooks. I like to use the Owner All Purpose Worm Hook, size 4/0.
Worms: Also many brands and styles to choose from. I like to use the Berkeley Powerbait 7″ Curly tail Worm in Green Pumpkin. Black, Junebug, and Tequila Sunrise are also great colors.
Line: Izorline Copolymer line is a great starting point. 10lb test. If you want to spend a bit money, try braided line. Use a Hi-Visibility Yellow in 10-25lb test. If you use braided line I highly recommend adding a fluorocarbon leader.
