How to Fish with Small Swimbaits for Bass and Bluegill (Easy Way)

Today I show you how to fish with small swimbaits for bass and bluegill. This is an easy way to learn swimbait fishing, because you can get a lot of practice while fishing for bluegill too. I start with a 2 inch swimbait in the color pink. I catch 2 nice bass very quickly. I even catch them back to back! After switching to a 1.5 inch swimbait, I start catching bluegill as well. I even catch another bass on the tiny black swimbait. All you need is a small jig head, and a small swimbait, and you can be fishing a swimbait too. #realistic #fishing

  1. I've caught all my fish the last 3 weekends on a 2 inch Bobby Garland swim bait. Different species caught, that includes some decent skip jacks, and a good 15-20 inch small mouth. Those small baits pull decent catches. Don't ever underestimate them.

That grub color is a black body, pink tail, and a black head with yellow eye jig head. 1/16 oz jig. That thing is now in my top 5 go to-s when I'm not catching anything. I'm getting a few creature baits after seeing the success with the swim bait.

Yea those hooks are thin and you gotta be careful, I agree. I've been surprised how well my catches have stayed on at certain points. If you've never tried small creature baits and swim baits, I urge you to try. It's a lot of fun!

  2. Your lowlight worked fine( bass#3) I love playing with small lures/light line just to see what will happen. You had a fun time. πŸ‘πŸŽ£πŸ˜ŠπŸŽ£

  3. Small baits are deff the way to go in certain situations. People think you need giant baits to catch big fish but you'd be surprised how many giant bass crappie fisherman have caught on tiny jigs. Great show and material brother

  5. I’ve always wondered about the smaller swim baits and wondered if they were just as good for fishing. After watching this video, and seeing that you caught bass with your setup, I’m definitely trying this setup. Thanks for the informative video

  6. Love the video. I’m going to try a small swim bait in my local lake this week. Thanks for always bringing the great content!! Greetings from AK Fishing, where fishing is Always Kool!

  7. It's funny how sizing down can produce in small lakes like that. Subtle is better sometimes. It's also funny how you have found FREAKING Alabama rigs hung up on logs in that lake LOL… I would say you have quite the edge over the other people that fish that spot…
