  1. Anyone know how that punch skirt Gene mentioned gets rigged? Does it go on the line ahead of the hook or on the hook? If just on line wouldn't it go flying around on a cast?

  2. What would be the difference between using punch skirt with the swimbait vs. using the swimbait as a trailer on a swim jig? Is it simply that it’s more weedless or is there any difference in action?

If you use ZMAN paddlerz super glue won't be needed. Poke a hole with the hook then screw the hook on. You might use only one maybe two baits for the day maybe week. Paddle tails BY ZMAN WORKS BETTER AS QUALITY OF THE PRODUCT. Razor SHADZ Are awsome!!! That bigger profile to a chatterbait or use it solo on one video. Have fun Gene!!!!

  4. 2 days ago here in Illinois I had a text book day using a fluke in watermelon magic color with a belly weighted swimbait hook. I fished for 3 hours, stopped counting after 20 bass… best 5 would have been a 15+ pound bag. Wind pushing into a south facing bank in the north end of the lake next to a feeder creek after a heavy rain! Classic late winter pattern! Great start to 2018

  5. yup,you cannot fish a whopper plopper there because of the treble hooks gettin hung up,but you can as you said fish a weedless whopper plopper there, which is a frog and a whopper plopper combined, called a Teckel sprinker frog, also recently they came out with a fish head spin, chatterbait combo called a fish head primal vibe.Happy Fishin

  6. Noticed you were in the new Bonified SS127; that kayak is amazing! Really suprized me how well it tracked with the pontoon sytle hull. I just bought one, getting it rigged-out, intalled flush mount rod holders behind seat.

  7. I have a lake near me that has deep hydrilla that comes up and stops about 6 inches before the surface. Could you use this method with a heavier weighted hook to cover deeper? Or is there a more efficient method to fish this kind of cover? Thanks

  8. Fluke, great video! Quick question, what hook is that? all the swimbait hooks I find have a larger weight on them. Thanks man, keep the vids coming!

  9. get that silly mask off your face. 95% of skin damage from the sun is done before you hit 30. Your muffled voice makes the video too hard to watch. I don't think you would bend light wired hooks on 50 lb braid if you didn't swing for the fences, at least I don't. I wish I was in Florida right now. The KY bass just haven't turned on yet.

  10. I really enjoy this style of video brother!! It’s the perfect blend of throwback to you old and golden tips videos and new video editing quality. Thanks again for all you do! Nice to see you slaying some hogs!
How are you liking the new bonafied? I’m going to purchase my first yak in the next few months and thinking about going bonafied. Do you think it’s too much for a first yak? I’m a pretty avid angler and it just seems like the dream platform for storage capacity, stability and customization. Any advice?

  11. Would you say fish relate to grass the same in ponds as they do in lakes? I have a pond behind my house that grows 2-3 big, thick grass beds in the summer towards the shallow end of it. The ponds only about 10-12 feet deep at its deepest point and it does not have a lot of structure at that point for the fish to relate to. Should I focusing on flipping and using swim baits in these mats? (maybe even punching since they’re so thick). Like I’ve said the pond is right behind my house so I’ve fished it my whole life and I always struggle to find the fish in the summer so I was curious if you thought the bass would relate to that grass as much in a pond as they would a lake?

  12. Great video. I can tell you got your head screwed on right with that rig. I use something similar, but I will give yours a go. I will omit the super glue…had so many mishaps with it, my left eye starts twitching when I see some. 🙂
