How To Fish BIG Worms For Summer Bass

Summer has arrived and the fish are moving offshore so get ready! Its time to dust off those BIG worms and head out to the breaks and ledges! In Today’s video Tim explains the advantages of different worms, colors, and rigging methods.

Whether you are fishing for number or BIG bass, the Texas rigged worm or Carolina rigged worm is a great choice throughout the Summer months. These simple rigs produce both quantity AND quality consistently. If your goal is just to catch fish, you don’t even need dedicated gear for this technique.

Below is a break down of Tim’s favorite BIG worms and the gear he uses to fish them. Good luck on the water!

  1. I used a shakey head this last week for the first time and couldn't keep the Bass off the hook every cast was getting hit!! glad I watched your videos and you guys are both very good at what you do!

  2. I really like the 784. When I got it I didn't think much of it. I was expecting off the charts sensitivity but it just felt average. Then I switched from a Curado 200i (7.5 oz) to the Curado 70xg (6.5 oz) and the ounce made a big difference.
Tim, I saw you with a Revo or something, that was in the 5 oz range. Perhaps reel weight should be mentioned when talking about pairing a set up for Rod sensitivity. I'm sure a lighter reel will help any Rod feel better.
    I appreciate TB'

  3. idk why this thought popped in my head….I wonder how many soft plastics and lures are at the bottom of your/my favorite lake? lol Tactical Bassin always good Knowledge!! Caught my PB on a big worm!

  4. Hey Matt, Try this out. Not saying it will work any where or for everybody. Put a chatter bait blade on a big 10 inch worm and rip it off the bottom and let it sink back down. Caught some good fish like that.

  5. Hey Tim, I've found the Yum Punkin Ed Jig and I've used a 5/8 oz with a 6/0 hook and the Yum Mightee Worm 10.5 or Berkeley 12" and giant bass eat giant worms.I caught a 7.11 lb LMB at Kentucky Lake and you can cast those a mile haha… Way to got on 125 subscribers any minute now…✌️🎣👍👏👏👏👏😂👍🎣👍

  6. Thanks to Tactical I just caught my PB Large Mouth 6lbs 2oz. this is HUGE for my state of South Dakota. The state record is only 9lbs 3oz.I follow what you guys teach to the tea, without you I would have never ever caught this fish in a million years!!!! A huge thank you, Tim and Matt! A new South Dakota state record is on its way guys!!!!!!!

  7. Matt, Tim. What are your thoughts about the state record largemouth in Wyoming being caught and killed instead of taking measurements, photos and doing the mount that way? Just curious.

  8. I have the Manns worm but haven't used it yet. I'm going to put it on a carolina rig do I have to fish it deep?? I'm fishing from the bank where the water is @5feet deep n flat bottom.
