With a bait caster rod you can feel the slow bites a whole lot more than the hard knocks. I miss fewer fish with like a cranking rod or a top water rod because of the hard hook sets i do while fishing the senko.
In that veggie I'd use a weedless frog and simply murder em! Or a weedless jig/pork & trailer,that would smoke that senko below the surface! Pound for pound a weedless jig is deadly

Caught a 5 1/2 pound small mouth up in NY State with a wacky rigged Senko last year. just kept popping it off the bottom with a little twitch. I find that early spring from about now until end of June, it doesnt matter how you rig a senko, the bass will nail it! Great Video!

I love how the Senko can be used as almost every bass bait… Worm texas/ wacky rigged, jerk bait, minnow, slug, bull frog, popper… you name it!
