This video shows how to fillet a Largemouth Bass. This same technique also works for bluegill, and crappie. This is very simple, and only requires a sharp fillet knife.
I had bass back in the 90s when I was a kid and always gosh for bass , but it’s been forever since I’ve had any. I need to cook one up
This was a great video and was very helpful for further learning. Iv'e seen videos where people just take off the scales of the bass instead of taking off the skin completely, then gut the fish and take off the head and fins and then after that process they fillet it. I'm not sure if that is the best way so im just here looking for an opinion for further fish.
Nice fish!
Great vid! Bass is my favorite!
Hey that is my frend
You sound like an older Sheldon from the Big Bang theory don't take that the wrong way, awesome tutorial!
This one guy I ask him are you going to keep a bass he said yes
Bass are invasive where I live. We are encouraged to keep as many as we can catch.
i have a fish (small mouth bass) this is very helpful thanks mate
Did you gut it? It looks like no..
Thank you so much a 50 year old dude should know this and now I do.
The people telling you not to eat bass are the same ones who say you shouldn't be eating ANY wild fish
Thanks brother. I’ve never filleted a fish before. We usually do trout or salmon and eat the whole damned fish. Seems like a waste but I’ve never had bass before. Took the fam out to the lake and my daughter was the only one who caught anything. Out here where we live the waters gross. So when she finally caught an eater out of clean water she wanted to have it for supper. Thanks to you this is exactly what’s gonna happen.
bass fishing instincts wanted to cringe, but I will say tho I tried bass and enjoyed it
We don’t catch and release we catch and eat ..
No one's gonna stop me from eating bass I kept a 5 pounder the other day while a game warden was watching me he did not care that I kept it.
good job!!
My first fillets did not turn out that great, i will return once i get another fish
Im new to catch and eating, a sharp knife is definitely something im lacking in. Especially the larger fish
Awesome video straight to the point. Other Youtubers should take note. … Awesome Video! I'm 38 years old and I've always been interested in fishing (Yet afraid of the unknown). I bought The Abu Garcia Vandetta rod 4-5 years ago then a black max open faced reel to pair it with. I always purchase a fishing liscense every year yet I never do anything but casting out with a weight into the water as far as I could for practice (I've done that for years) until today.
My casts were great, slowly reeling my nonlive/"Plastic" bait and I cought 6 bass today. I Released 3 of them because they were either to short or too skinny. One is a behemoth and the others are a pretty darn good size. Because of your video I know what to do. Thank You!
LoL! I have bitten the bug!
Thank you for this video! I happened to marry a man who loves fishing even though I've never been fishing before so I'm glad to know something now at least
Hi, can do that apply to Peacock Bass too?
Straight to the point and easy to understand thank you. I didn't have to listen to your life story or a bunch of unnecessary details and opinions
Thank you for making this video. I haven't fillet a fish since I was a little girl. My son and I caught a largemouth tonight and this helped so much. God bless.
Sandwiches!!!!
Thank you for the video. I just fell late my first fish from watching your step-by-step directions. Thank you. I will say I need a sharper knife and more practice. Lol but thank you again.
Very sharp knife that easily cuts thru fish bone. We actually use this to cut up meats like chicken, goat, and beef. Works great!
I’ve literally never eaten a bass. Pretty much anything that swims.. but never a bass. And now I want to.
I generally see bass as a sports fish and not a food fish and usually preach bass are friends not food. However if i had the chance to keep and eat a bass i would. I’m open to trying new foods and would like to try it sometime.
So how come you can’t eat the belly meat?
Great to the point video.
Ain’t no season like bass season
Bass swollowed my luer just about and hooked him in the throat gonna cook him tmr
Hey, thanks for the video, I just caught and filleted my first bass! Used your video as a tutorial and it came out pretty well
I want to but I can’t ! I love bass to much haha
Must be from Louisiana the only people I ever seen that filet Bass .
