This video shows how to fillet a Largemouth Bass. This same technique also works for bluegill, and crappie. This is very simple, and only requires a sharp fillet knife.

  1. This was a great video and was very helpful for further learning. Iv'e seen videos where people just take off the scales of the bass instead of taking off the skin completely, then gut the fish and take off the head and fins and then after that process they fillet it. I'm not sure if that is the best way so im just here looking for an opinion for further fish.

  2. Thanks brother. I’ve never filleted a fish before. We usually do trout or salmon and eat the whole damned fish. Seems like a waste but I’ve never had bass before. Took the fam out to the lake and my daughter was the only one who caught anything. Out here where we live the waters gross. So when she finally caught an eater out of clean water she wanted to have it for supper. Thanks to you this is exactly what’s gonna happen.

  3. Awesome video straight to the point. Other Youtubers should take note. … Awesome Video! I'm 38 years old and I've always been interested in fishing (Yet afraid of the unknown). I bought The Abu Garcia Vandetta rod 4-5 years ago then a black max open faced reel to pair it with. I always purchase a fishing liscense every year yet I never do anything but casting out with a weight into the water as far as I could for practice (I've done that for years) until today.

My casts were great, slowly reeling my nonlive/"Plastic" bait and I cought 6 bass today. I Released 3 of them because they were either to short or too skinny. One is a behemoth and the others are a pretty darn good size. Because of your video I know what to do. Thank You!

LoL! I have bitten the bug!

  4. I generally see bass as a sports fish and not a food fish and usually preach bass are friends not food. However if i had the chance to keep and eat a bass i would. I’m open to trying new foods and would like to try it sometime.
