  1. I will definitely try this next spring, I'm on a small lake 100acres or so, very pressured lake, I have yet to catch a bass on this lake (show low lake, AZ) , trout no trout, I don't take no for an answer, thank you Randy keep up the great videos, thank you

  2. I've been doing pretty good using a Cabela's sunfish swimbait, which resembles blue gill, the last couple of times out and Texas rigged it with a pegged sinker to get it through the grass. I have some Rage Swimmers in the same color. I'll have to try following it up with a walking bait.

  3. I'm looking for clarification, down your way maybe things are really different….you keep saying perch and bluegill.
But Perch only spawn in the spring, they don't spawn on beds, they do there thing in 45+/- degree water and then the majority head for deeper water. Are you just saying Perch as other types of sunfish ?

  4. Great video Randy!!!
I fish a lot of Ribbed Swim Baits here in East Texas, particularly the Rage Swimmer and the Bass absolutely hammer it!!! I like how your belly weighted hook is not directly in the middle.
I have found that the #3 or #4 Owner Twist Lock Hook with the 1/4 oz weight that is moved more towards the top of the shank of hook is better for me also. More hook comes through the lure when setting the hook and it doesn’t block the lure allowing for better hookup ratio and I fish it mainly weed less. I fish these lures in shallow water around heavy cover timber and heavy grass with like you mentioned 20lb and 17lb Flouro but I have found that 40lb Braid or 50lb Braid works great when around the heavier grass and helps with setting the hook easier too. I will try marking some with those colors as you recommended and see what happens.
Thanks again for your time and knowledge!!!

  5. How's the hook up rate on that? With the bigger round swimbaits there isn't that much of a gap to get the fish so I've kinda stayed away from rigging it weedless like that. Great video!

  6. Last night, I was looking for baitfish color patterns. I found no pictures of baitfish from my region (Sierra Nevada foothills). Since coloration varies so much throughout the country, I need to spend some time fishing for crappie and bluegill. If I’m too successful, I might not want to go back to bass fishing.
