Quit struggling when its hot! Bass become really predictable on hot days. If you know where to look and what to throw, catching fish is no problem… even in the hottest weather! If you’re going to go to the lake and sweat, you might as well learn the right places to fish. Pay close attention as Tim points out key cover elements and demonstrates the baits he uses to pick them apart.
Many anglers give up on fishing during the day during the heat of Summer. They switch to night fishing or just give up all together. However, there are a few anglers that understand what a huge help the heat can be to fish positioning and predictability. The hotter it gets, the easier it is to catch the bass! When the peak of Summer heat arrives, shallow bass position under the thickest pieces of overhead cover. If you’re looking down an entire bank of shallow cover you can instantly see the 2 or 3 spots where the largest fish will sit.
With the guess work removed from the equation, all you need are a handful of reliable baits to catch the fish. Below you’ll find links to our favorite flipping baits, frogs, and swim jigs. We’ve included the best sizes, our favorite colors, as well as the gear we use to fish them effectively. All the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

Mid 90s is hot?
Love you and Matt I nhave been a sub for several years . The info u guys is legit , I’m mostly a shallow fisherman located in N Al so i get the extreme heat and humidity we usually go early daylight till 11:00
12:00some days late in the evening to dark we don’t night fish a lot just isn’t my deal , but love the frog bite , swim jig bite plus in current on pickwick and Wilson lakes the mid range 810’bite can b good with DT 10 and 1/2 oz spinner bait or chatter wagon a bit offshore tell me what u think . Water , power aid lite is a must to keep the head in game in good ole Al in July lolAll boat no show
Everyone talks about how to catch bass when you have a bass boat but never how to catch bass from the bank
I have not had any problems catching with a Picasso dock rocket jig. Skipping it under cover and docks. It really like some of the fish are still spawning.
Tagrees
65lb braid is fucking stupid. I'll pull those same fish up out of cover with 15lb mono.
I feel ya bro, Central FL here, by 930a it's unbearably hot, water temps 87
Needed this video here in Central Florida it's unbearable by 10a water temps 87
What if you're fishing from the bank not n a boat n u can't get out there and fish back to the bank
In Florida the weedless frogs over the lillypads catches bass almost year round. Especially since its hot 90% of the year
Will skipping a fluke style under the overhang trees work to?
Fishing the the desert. Wha?
I don’t think they’ll bite in 110 degree weather…..
god bless Texas
Thank you for the tips, now im going to go catch a 30 pound bag tommorow
I've been having a ton of luck in moving water at falls etc.
You talk too much about nothing
Thanks for another great vudeo
86.3 tegrees
How far is that bank from you? And a better question. How far away do you keep the boat from the area you're fishing?
So what your sayin, back as deep as you can go in the shade? 😅🤣
You know it’s hot when it goes from “degrees” to “tegrees”
I don't care about the weather I don't care about all the weeds and stuff I'm only interested in what lures to use and where to cash them and how to make them work your video is good you spend too much time talking about the weather the water temperature and stuff this week and work through in the future so show us the lures and how to use them other than that it's boring thank you
What if your home lake is a river lake with zero weed beds?
obvi it isnt arizona or texas, but it's been really hot these past few weeks in chicago. this was a great video
Lmaoo no one saw that big ass fish move the dirt around
Ok but what about the depth of water. Is two feet enough in the heat to hold fish?
@tacticalbassin just saw this video and wanted highlight that those red arrows where you pointed to look for action were so helpful. Bifocals can’t hardly pick up where most casts land until the fish has been pulled far toward angler. Using these arrows for directly our attention certainly could help those like me to see where to focus and follow the action for learning.
Thanks so much!
What rod are you using
👍👍
Who else noticed it's a green screen behind him lol. . That boat hasnt moved one time nor has the trees moved 😂
My question is how do you fish deep and stay deep in deep vegetaion and still keep weeds off you half oz jig or weight or hook or everything really….. When ever i try working a swim jig or some plastic lure in thick vegetation i just keep yabking out pikes of weeds…even with "weedless" hooks which is literally impossible i believe lol…thats why ive started using a 3/8 oz boo ya spinner with a mr twister on it and working it slow……can get it kinda deep but not that deep……and easier to keep out of weeds since it sinks slower…..
I'm also in northern MN so water is a bit cooler…..but we did have a couple lakes hit low 80s a week ago during a heat wave……get to lake early at sun rise on hit days is my advise…..
So I use a Booya Micro pond magic spinner 3/8 oz with a 3" chartreuse Mr twister with action tail….. And I'll work it as slow as possible pull it just fast enough for spinner to barely spin but plenty of action from Mr twister action tail….
How would you guys fish a small body of water with no grass just moss around the shore line and just generally no cover in late June and three July? I should add this is strictly a bank fishing body of water. Thanks for any advice I can get!!!
Broken Bow Lake, OK. Water temperature 83-90 /60 – 80 feet deep; you name it we threw it.
What's up with your face???
This channel needs 10 million subscribers! Hands down one of the best!
Can someone explain to me what they think that big cloud of dust that happened in the water at 7:55 lol
He’s not exactly fishing in heat he’s fishing in like 77 degrees
U give information vids but don’t answer question?? I want to ask u something
Probably a dumb question, but does bait color matter during low light conditions? like at the end of the day when the sun is going down, Thanks.
New sub. Liked 👍🌞😊
Every time I throw this set up with a bullet weight I end up cleaning grass off my rig. Am I doing something wrong? Thx in advance
If it’s so hot why tf are you wearing long sleeves??
Thanks for the video I’ve caught 7bass in July nothing yet in august I use yums sinkos 5 inch
86 point 3 Tegrees??? What the? Maybe Degrees
