  1. going to have to try using that mono on my jerk baits. been skunked on them for the last 3 weeks and the water temp has been bouncing around 44-46 since new years. also been having to use my lure retriever and magnet a lot to recover them from logs and rocks more than all through the fall so guess it does make a lot of sense. they're my favorite style lure to cast so been a bummer. i'm also stuck fishing off my pier and the tiny bit of shoreline on my property that isn't overgrown by thick thorny brush until I get my boat before this spring. Only thing I have had any luck on is a KVD half shell on a drop shot rigged about 8 inches off the bottom at about 15-20 feet deep along a steep drop off. and by luck, I think I am catching the same 1 pound almost ghost white spot one to two times a day.

  2. New subscriber. You said something about jerk baits and specifically using fluorocarbon that I've never heard anyone mention and, I've watched a lot of jerk bait videos here! The thing about the fluorocarbon sinking while your jerk bait is trying to suspend makes sense. Also, when you jerk the bait, the first thing you're doing is dragging that jerk bait downward. That's genius stuff right there. I just switched my leader to mono! I often wondered why I caught just as many bass on jerk baits with straight braid in the dead of Winter, it floats! Thanks.
