How I Caught a BIG Bass and Big Bowfin in the Same Day! #fishing #bassfishing #bass

In this video, I take y’all to Lake Waccamaw to catch some fish! A cold front came through but I decided to go fishing anyway. I’m glad I did! I started in the morning when the temperature was 42 degrees. I didn’t end up catching anything until later on in the day after the sun warmed it up into the low 60s. I stuck in there and managed to catch two really good fish!
To catch a big bowfin and a big bass in the same day at Lake Waccamaw in North Carolina, you can try the following tips:

1. **Location**: Bowfin prefer shallow waters with vegetation, while bass can be found near the cover of structures like docks, fallen trees, or submerged vegetation. Look for areas where both species might be present.

2. **Time of Day**: Bowfin are more active during the day, while bass are active during low light periods like dawn and dusk. Plan your fishing trip accordingly to target both species.

3. **Bait and Lures**: For bowfin, use live bait such as shiners or cut bait. Bowfin are known to be scavengers, so smelly bait works well. Bass are often attracted to artificial lures like crankbaits, plastic worms, or topwater lures.

4. **Techniques**: Bowfin are aggressive feeders and will strike at moving baits. Bass may require a more finesse approach, such as casting near structure and using a slow retrieve.

5. **Patience and Persistence**: Both bowfin and bass can be challenging to catch, so be patient and persistent. Keep trying different spots, baits, and techniques until you find success.
